One of the most iconic events in the sporting calendar - Wimbledon - has returned once again after being cancelled last year.

The tennis grand slam tournament is famous for a few things - strawberries and cream, glamorous celebs and big prize pay outs.

In 2019, singles champions Djokovic and Kerber each won a tidy £2,350,000, which was the largest amount paid out in the tournament's history.

However this year the reward for the winner has dropped dramatically. This is the first time the prize money has gone down since Wimbledon first started in 1968.

This year, Gentlemens' and Ladies' singles champions can expect to win a cool £1,700,000 - making it the lowest prize amount since 2013.
